I Dreamt I was a Jigsaw Puzzle and I'm Thrilled to Pieces-
This piece is a site-specific installation created at and for Elsewhere Museum and Residency. Elsewhere is a living museum and artist residency, created inside of a former thrift store. In this space, artists are invited to make work using objects from the museum collection, responding to the site and building upon artworks created by former residents.
‘I Dreamt I was a Jigsaw Puzzle and I’m Thrilled to Pieces’ draws inspiration from late 50’s and early 60’s ‘Ladies’ Home Journal’ magazines from the museum collection. Installed within the space of a bathroom installation ‘Velvet Retreat’ by Janelle Beasley, the experience of this work becomes intimate.
